We wanted to share a brief update on construction activity on campus and what you can expect over the next several weeks as we continue moving forward together.
Demolition Progress
Interior demolition and abatement work is currently underway. Exterior demolition of both the Brown Building and the Fellowship Hall will take place over the next few weeks. At this time, we anticipate that full demolition of both buildings will be completed by the end of January.
Safety on Campus
To keep everyone safe during demolition, temporary snow fencing will be installed around active work areas. This fencing is meant to clearly mark restricted zones and protect children, pedestrians, and visitors while work is in progress.
Permitting Update
We are currently waiting for final feedback from the City on our site plan and building permits. Once we receive those approvals, we will be able to finalize construction costs and schedules.
Parking & Campus Logistics
- The lower parking lot and parking in front of the sanctuary will remain open until further notice, supporting continued accessibility and Sunday use.
- The Barking Lot will been relocated to the northern area near the cell tower.
- A shed will be purchased or built on the Woodlawn side of the cell tower to store equipment such as the lawn mower and tools .
Looking Ahead
By late-March, once final costs are confirmed and required approvals are in place, we anticipate holding a Church Conference to seek final congregational approval to move forward with full construction .
We know construction brings both excitement and inconvenience, and we are deeply grateful for your patience, flexibility, and trust during this season. Our commitment is to communicate clearly and regularly as things progress.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for holding this project—and one another—in prayer.
