Mission
Woodlawn Community Fellowship is committed to being and active member of the community. We engage in a variety of mission work to make a difference and act of living embodiments of Christ’s love for all people. Learn more about our mission work below.
Ready to volunteer? WCF has so many ways you can be a part of our mission work! Contact the church office for more information about volunteer opportunities.

The Bulb
Families in need are invited to receive fresh food through The Bulb ministry distributed at WCF. Food distribution begins each Monday at 10:30 a.m. We serve around 30 families each week with fresh produce, provided from our friends at The Bulb. The “take what you need, give what you can” motto means to create a barrier-free environment that promotes accessibility for all people.
Volunteers are always needed, with a particular need for Spanish-speaking volunteers. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. Can’t volunteer but still want to support The Bulb? You can make a gift specifically for our food ministry today!

Hurricane Relief
WCF is dedicated to supporting Hurricane Helene relief efforts in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties. With our friends at Neighborhood Table, local churches, and others, we are serving hot meals to communities directly impacted by the devastating effects of the storm.
Volunteers travel to the mountains to serve meals approximately once per week. You can also support hurricane relief by donating food and drinks (please contact the church office to find out what is needed), or by making a gift designated for hurricane relief.

Pinewood Elementary
Our local elementary school, Pinewood, is a Title I school. Pinewood serves a diverse population of students and their families. WCF recently provided over 100 holiday gift bags filled with goodies for the teachers and staff at Pinewood. We also hold an annual backpack and school supply drive so that every child can start the school year off with the supplies they need to be successful.

Seasonal Mission Work
WCF supports a wide variety of community partners throughout the year. In 2024, our mission work included making sandwiches and collecting winter clothing for Roof Above, creating care kits for First Responders, a holiday toy drive, angel care kits for Refugee Support Services, canned food drives, and collecting backpacks and school supplies for Pinewood Elementary and the Boys & Girls Club.
